An on-hire labour agreement allows an on-hire business to recruit temporary skilled overseas workers to occupations on the Consolidated Sponsored Occupation List CSOL where the business can demonstrate that there is no appropriately qualified Australian worker readily available. A business which enters an on-hire labour agreement becomes an approved sponsor and can nominate and recruit overseas workers in the approved occupations. Negotiating and On-hire Labour Agreement is a detailed application process which and can take a number of to prepare. Once approved, the agreement is in place for 3 years and each year the business is required to negotiate the number of skilled visa allocations with the Department of Immigration and Border Protection.
